Calin V3 Professional - Advanced Interest Calculator
Calin V3 Professional (C3P) is a secure desktop application which calculates interest in a very wide range of contractual and legislative situations. For example it handles situations involving multiple debts and payments, interest rates that change over time and optionally by amount, it lets you enter static interest rates or keep files of historic rates. You can control every aspect of the calculation including rate review rules, rounding, order of applying payments, days per year, and frequency of interest impositions. It handles compound interest at any defined frequency.
In other words it can easily calculate interest in most contractual and legislative situations, including simple debts, credit-card or revolving store style accounts characterized by multiple debits and credits, leases, loans, compound interest and numerous other situations. It also has a mode where you can check whether the interest charged by your own financial institutions (eg on your bank overdraft) is correct.
Calin V4 Professional - Interest Calculator for Professionals and Commerce
This is the latest version of the flagship Calin Professional. It is faster and more powerful than version 3.
A major addition is the ability to calculate 'multiphase interest'. This means that you can stack a number of different types of interest rate phases back-to-back. For example in matters involving interest on an amended tax liability the interest up to the present can go through various phases. The phase can be a rate that changes periodically and compounded daily - then changing to a different variable compound rate - then to zero for a while then back to a different variable rate.
C4P can handle these situations easily, as usual producing a very detailed calculation that is easy for professional advisers to charge for.
Although the Calin Professional series can be used simply to save time and effort and give a consistently accurate result, that is not the raison d'etre. If that's all you want then Calin Basic will do a good job for you.
The point of Calin Professional:
- For professionals who charge money for their time, CP rapidly produces useful information and documents that you can charge money for. Thus the detailed calculations that show how complicated your work is and how much you have done.

It also includes a useful tax calculator for all years from 1976.
