Missing Settings

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

If you are puzzled why certain options and settings are not visible, are not being offered to you, or seem to have vanished, then this section sets out the logical reasons why this may be so.

Locked settings.

If the selected interest rate file has active locks then you can only change those settings from within the interest rate file.

Interest rates on Credit Balances

The option to set interest rates on credit balances is only given on the main form if the current calculation actually or potentially involves credit balances.

Single amounts

If the single amount is positive (debit) then the credit rates screen will be skipped, and vice-versa.

Transactions

If there are no pre-calculation credit balances the credit screen will be hidden unless (i) compound interest is involved and (ii) there is at least one credit transaction.

Multiple Cases

The option will generally be offered if the Multiple Single Amounts or Multiple Cases with Transactions options has been selected.

Situation Menu

The Situation menu at the start also controls which screens are visible. It hides any unnecessary screens so that the process is simplified as much as possible.

Licensing

Screens relevant to a particular licensed feature will be hidden if there is no corresponding licence. In particular, an evaluation edition of the program may reveal a wider range of features then the version you ultimately purchased.
