Merge Files

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

A merge data file for MS Word and for Wordperfect is created every time a calculation is made.

You control the location of those files here - or just leave the default settings.

You need to link your wordprocessing template to the data files.

Tip: A very easy way of getting the filename of the merge file is to right-click the result tab. You will able to copy the filename to the clipboard for easy pasting:

This controls where the mail-merge files are stored.

Microsoft Word Mail-Merge File

Destination of the .doc file in CSV format.

Field Delimiter

This dictates the character used to separate fields in the Microsoft Word merge file.

System Default takes its setting from your computer. You can find your computer's setting in the Control Panel|Regional Settings form. This will normally suffice but if there is a problem reading the merge file you may need to change this setting.

WordPerfect Mail-Merge File

Destination of the .db file in Paradox format.

See Mail Merge Report for example report.
