It is best to use the Tab key to move between fields rather than the Mouse so that the new field is automatically highlighted.
When you tab to the amount field you will see that $0.00 is highlighted (selected) like this:
When the field is highlighted you can key in your amount without having to delete the zeroes as can be required if you use the mouse to enter a field.
If you can't tab then double-click the edit control and enter numbers straightaway.
