If you have trouble installing the software then please observe this checklist before contacting us so that we can immediately eliminate the usual problems.
- Have you downloaded the installation file and saved it to your computer? The name of the installation file is given in the table below.
- Have you tried to open (ie run) the saved program from within Explorer or My Computer? - Make sure you aren't trying to open it from within some other program such as Microsoft Word/Wordperfect etc?
- Did you download the entire installation file, or did the download terminate early? The following table shows the size of each installation file for the current version. If your file is smaller then it may not have downloaded fully - just download it again in accordance with the instructions that were originally emailed to you, or click the product name to enter your details again. If you have a different version then the size may be slightly different.
- Are you using an Apple MacIntosh computer? Sorry - the program will not run on a Mac. If you have purchased the program then please email to request a refund.
- Often the only problem will be that either your Internet provider's server or our server was very busy when you tried to download, and the congestion caused download failure. Most regular Internet users will have experienced this phenomenon at some stage. Therefore, try downloading an hour or more later.
- In the case of Ultimate Date Calculator, if all else fails then you can download the program in smaller chunks as follows:
1. Download http://www.datecalculator.com/udc/eng/small/disk1.zip (2143Kb)
2. Download http://www.datecalculator.com/udc/eng/small/disk2.zip (2492Kb)
3. Download http://www.datecalculator.com/udc/eng/small/disk3.zip (2332 Kb)
4. Create a folder somewhere called 'udc'.
5. Unzip disk1.zip, disk2.zip and disk3.zip into that folder.
6. You should have 3 sub-folders called disk1, disk2 and disk3.
7. Open the disk1 folder and execute the setup.exe file to install UDC.
- For other programs, if you are still plagued by partial downloads then email us and we will provide smaller files as for UDC.

1. The activation code consists of a series of alphanumeric characters surrounded by curly braces - eg {abcdef12345}. The important point is that the braces form part of the code. If you try to enter the code without the braces then the code will not work.
2. The program accesses the activation code from the Windows Clipboard - that is the name of the memory space where things are stored when you copy something using Ctrl+C. The activation code is read when you click the Update Licence button, but you must copy the activation code (including braces) immediately before doing that. If there are intervening tasks, eg starting or using a different program, then the activation code might get lost.
You can either A. update the interest rate yourself, or B. download the latest interest rates.
(A) Start Calin and select the interest rate to update. The name of the rate will be displayed on the selector button. Click the main part of the button. You will see a Wizard form. Click Next twice until you see the rates grid. Click the + button and insert the rate, and date from. Click the Tick button, then the save button (with the diskette icon).
(B) Go to the Court Interest Calculator page on this website and check our latest interest rates. If they are not uptodate then click the link to let us know, and we will update them immediately. Otherwise, go to the Calin Software Resources section of our Downloads Centre on this website. Click on the link for "Calin - Latest Interest Files". Download the installation file and run it. Choose "Remove: then run it again.
